The Santa Lucia concert illuminates winter in the Cathedral of Mallorca
The Swedish School of Mallorca celebrated its 50th anniversary with a concert of Saint Lucia to the Cathedral of Mallorca. The Christmas celebration of Saint Lucia is a Swedish tradition that takes place every December 13th. This day the dolls are dressed to represent St. Lucia in white robes and holding a candelabrum. One of them also has a crown of candles on his head. For their part, the children also wear white and wear a golden star. In this way the children illuminate the winter.
On Wednesday, December 13, at 7:30 pm, the Cathedral of Mallorca hosted this traditional concert of Santa Lucia. The choir was made up of 128 girls and boys between 6 and 16 years old who filled the Cathedral of Mallorca with Christmas spirit and light. During the concert, traditional songs and Christmas carols were sung in Swedish, English, Spanish and Catalan. The concert was a success and more than 1,300 people attended.
