The 20th International Organ Festival will be held in the Cathedral of Mallorca on 3, 10 and 17 October. This event is part of the celebration of the Feast of the Dedication of the Cathedral.<\/em><\/p>\n

The widespread upheaval caused by Covid-19 and the project to restore the Cathedral\u2019s main organ have resulted in changes to the usual format of the concerts. The Cathedral\u2019s main organ will not be heard, but the smaller instrument located in the chancel will take its place, not just as a soloist but also as a concertante instrument, alternating with, conversing with or accompanying other vocal or instrumental groupings.<\/p>\n

The concerts will be held in the Cathedral on the first three Sundays in October at 20:00. Entry is free and the capacity will be limited. It will also be streamed on the Cathedral\u2019s website and on its official Facebook and YouTube channels. The programme for the 20th edition is provided below:<\/p>\n

3.10.2021 \u2013 Tintinnabuli<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bartomeu Mut, organist.<\/p>\n

With the collaboration of the choir of the Cathedral of Mallorca and the soloists Mar Campo and Juan Antonio Garc\u00eda Illanas, directed by Ra\u00fal Mart\u00ednez Villanueva. They will perform works by Arvo P\u00e4rt and James Whitbourn. The tintinnabuli language created by P\u00e4rt will form the evening\u2019s central thread.<\/p>\n

10.10.2021 \u2013 Narratio<\/strong><\/p>\n

Miquel \u00c0ngel Torrens, actor, and Bartomeu Mut, organist.<\/p>\n

Seven centuries of music. A combination of words and music to explain the restoration of the Cathedral\u2019s main organ, built in 1484. The teaser for the documentary \u2018La voz de los \u00e1ngeles. El \u00f3rgano de la catedral\u2019 [The voice of the angels: the organ of the Cathedral] will be presented, followed by a colloquium.<\/p>\n

17.10.2021 \u2013 Cum Jubilo<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rafel Riera, organist. With the collaboration of the A l\u2019Octava male voice choir and the baritone Joan Miquel Mu\u00f1oz, directed by Ricard Terradas. Durufl\u00e9\u2019s Missa Cum Jubilo will be performed as the central element of the concert. Works by Gelabert, Kocs\u00e1r and the organist himself, Rafel Riera, will also be performed.
