The Cathedral is organising the 4th edition of the ‘Tu ets l’Artista’ exhibition

04 October 2021

On Saturday 18 December at 11:00, the Cathedral will host the 4th edition of the ‘Tu ets l’artista!’ children’s Christmas exhibition. Following the success of previous years, when more than 1600 drawings were displayed, the Cathedral is continuing this initiative this year and is again looking for young artists.

Children are a group that in recent years has had a greater presence in the Cathedral thanks to the didactic activities the Chapter has offered with the aim of making them participants in the life of the church, and making it a source of dynamism and a space for learning as well as a place of worship.

Carrying on with this line, the Cathedral is organising the 4th edition of the ‘Tu ets l’Artista’ exhibition. Participants will do an artwork showing a nativity scene on an A3 sheet of card using whatever technique or material they prefer. The pieces can be done individually, in pairs or in groups. They must have the children’s first names on the front but not their surnames, ages or school year. On the back, they must have their names and surnames, school and class, if applicable.

The deadline to register for the exhibition is 19 November. The number of places is limited. Anyone interested can send an email to [email protected]. The young artists’ completed works must be submitted before 3 December. They can be submitted to the Chapter office at C/Capiscolat, 2.º 1.º from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 13:00 or to the reception of the Museum of Sacred Art of Mallorca, C/Mirador, 5 from Monday to Friday between 10:00 and 13:00.

The exhibition will open on Saturday 18 December at 11:00. All children, family members and teachers are invited. During the event, the Escolania de Vermells will sing carols and each child will receive a certificate and a small gift.
